Robin (Center Coordinator) studied biology and Chinese at Carleton College in Minnesota before serving as an agricultural advisor with the Peace Corps in The Gambia, West Africa, in the mid 1990s, Robin returned to the US and worked as a farmhand and manager on both conventional and organic farms in several states. He has M.S. degrees in Nutrition (Tufts University) and Library and Information Science (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign), and completed most but not all of a PhD in entomology at UW-Madison. He has worked with K-12 students as both a librarian and teacher and spent six years helping college students complete a minor in public health before joining the Midwest Center of Excellence for Vector-Borne Disease. In the center, it's Robin's job to coordinate center partners in five states, manage communications with anyone interested in the center, and track the center's progress in addressing vector-borne disease challenges.
